Politics

A Level Politics

Subject Description:

Politics A-level is an excellent course for studying both the theoretical and practical workings of politics in the UK. It is a current affairs course, and alongside studying recent political history, you will analyse events which are happening during your period of study, and so this subject really suits those who are interested in current affairs. In Year 13 you will also study American politics alongside key political thinkers representing a range of ideologies. At the end of the course you will sit three written exams, and so a good standard of literacy is required. During lessons you will spend a lot of time discussing and debating key issues, and this makes politics very valuable for developing your critical thinking.
