As part of Black History Month, Year 8 were lucky enough to have a visit from the actor, Rudolph Walker.   Rudolph Walker, OBE is a Trinidadian actor, best known for his roles on British television. He was the first black actor to appear in a major British TV series, his breakthrough role as Bill in the 1970s sitcom Love Thy Neighbour (co-starring fellow Trinidadian Nina Baden-Semper) leading to a long and varied acting career. He is currently best known as Patrick Trueman in the BBC One TV soap opera EastEnders, in which he has acted since 2001. He spoke about the importance of Black History Month but reminded students that we should be celebrating Black History all year round.

The year group were given the opportunity to ask him questions which included why Rudolph had chosen to come to the UK - Rudolph answered  that the UK was the place that offered him the greatest opportunity to become an actor, a career that he had aspired to for many years.
