Delight at Southgate students exam success!

Posted on: September 2nd 2022

1Southgate School is celebrating a superb set of results at both Post-16 and Year 11. Students’ achievements in 2022 are better, or equal to, the Teacher Assessments and Centre Assessed Grades of the last two years!

At a time when the numbers of top grades have fallen nationally, numerous Southgate students achieved A*/A at A Level, 8 and 9 at GCSE or Distinction * in their vocational courses at both level 2 and 3.

  • 39% of Year 13 students achieved a top A level grade compared with a national figure of 36%
  • A phenomenal 34% of our students achieved a grade 7-9 at GCSE compared to a national figure of 26%
  •  A truly remarkable 85% of students achieved 9-4 grades at GCSE, outcomes that are significantly higher than the national figure of 73%.

These wonderful successes are the result of the hard work and resilience shown by our students throughout a period of unprecedented disruption. We are immensely proud of all of you all !
