16-19 Tuition Fund 2021/22

Southgate School will receive £6,439 16 to 19 tuition funding from the Department for Education for academic year 2021/22.  We intend to provide small group tuition and mentoring support for students in Years 12 and 13.  Using data, we will prioritise students from disadvantaged backgrounds when deciding who requires extra tuition in a particular subject.  Where possible, this tuition is provided by subject staff from within the school community to ensure students benefit from pre-existing learning relationships and teachers who understand their particular learning needs.  Some mentoring schemes and revision support will be provided to small groups of students by learning support staff who are trained in working with students to help them overcome barriers to learning.
