Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge

Posted on: January 10th 2018

The Year 10 Speak Challenge Final Assembly has just taken place with 5 finalists competing. Speak Out Challenge is a London wide Public Speaking Competition – 60 of our students took part in the training workshops which focussed on how to speak confidently, in a structured way and without notes.

William Prior, Lauren Cripps, Scott Wilson, Amerie Harrison and Costa Anayioutou were brave enough to talk without notes for 2 minutes in front of their peers. They were very impressive, talking about a range of topics from ‘being who you want to be’ to ‘physics’.

Thank you to the judges, Mr Lavelle, Ms Dorrian and Ms Hussein who had the difficult task of choosing the best 3 and an overall winner. The results were as follows: In third place, Costa. In second place, Amerie and in first place Scott. He will go on to the Regional Final at Winchmore School on Thursday 25th January, 6pm. The top prize at the Grand Final is £5,000 with the winning Grand Finalist receiving £2000 and the winning school £3000!
